Our dealer, CanAm, installed a conventional Atwood water heater to our Classic. solved all the hot water issues. As far as the heating system goes the Alde is fantastic, I think Airstream dropped the ball on this. There should have been better dealer and consumer training. Our trailer was one of the first delivered and it didn't even have a manual for the Alde.

Rather than adding an Atwood maybe do the more modern Truma constant hotter unit. It is smaller than the Atwood and would offer continuous on demand hot water.

Bud, would you please send the info to us as well? (pvreed1@mac.com) We are waiting for delivery of our 2017 Classic and now know about the hot water issue thanks to friends. Hopefully the plant and the dealer will resolve the problem BEFORE we pick up the coach BUT we want to be prepared! (Will not leave dealership w/o testing the hot water!!!)
Thank You!

The factory is well aware of the issues I've communicated most recently today with them. They are re-educating dealers and Alde is either at the factory now or will be tomorrow. From what I've learned this is an adjustment issue and once completed the system is good to go for two years, when the fluid should be drained and new fluid added.

One aspect dealers are not aware of, it's in the Alde Owners manual and I've confirmed with Alde is the HOT WATER jacket in the boiler if being used constantly for a month should be drained and refilled-very easy process. Reason being it needs an air pocket at the top of the HOT WATER jacket and this is depleted over time with continual usage.

So why is this system an improvement worth the extra cost(embedded)? No need to respond.
