Yes, Clarabelle was the clown. Played by a young Bob Keeshan, who I'm sure you will remember as another famous childrens' actor...
Howdy also had a female friend, one who was royalty, even. She was called Princess Summerfall Winterspring. Sound familiar?

We have owned a 2006 23 Safari for 5 years now, we take it out 5 or 6 times a year and have been very pleased. Same sensor problems as other have mentioned but I can deal with that.
I still enjoy all the people that come by our campsite and ask about our rig.

We've got the same year AS and our black water sensor doesn't work all that well, but I haven't even tried to recalibrate... so i can't blame anyone.
We love our AS. After restoring an 80 year old house a few years back, I've learned to just take things in stride. Life is too short to let things bother me.

I am heading into our 6 th year with my 2005 Safari 30 Bunkhouse. 66,000 miles since new and have too much fun to moan about issues that I have had. Lightweight 30' compared to industry and tows awesome. If I was not handy working on things I may feel differently.
Just replaced brakes and did a bearing repack.

Mortimer Snerd was an Edgar Bergen character, companion to Charlie McCarthy dummy... Doodyville cast included Clarabelle, the Princess noted above, and the famous "Chief Thunderthud" to round out the politically correct Native American sidekicks... Though on live TV in early 1950's in LA, political correctness not common...

Gosh, some of you guys are really bringing back the memories... I was tongue in cheek with my comment that - I've read about back then ...
we had only one channel to watch around here in the mid fifties ... and we were often glued to the evening and weekend favorites ....

Still Solid
5 Months of full timing, 2500 miles, 3 tropical storms and the Fluffin is still solid as a rock. Just finisfed an inspection from top to bottom and no problems to report.

Just finished a 3700 mile tour of the country, another great and comfortable trip. Washed and polished with new "Glare" polish from Airstream, it'll knock your eyes out. Inspected everything, one interior rivet and my back gave up to Interstate 20 Louisiana or Dallas Fort Worth, Airstream performed and looks perfect, as did the new Andersen hitch.

What is the new "Glare" polish from Airstream?
Guess it's "Google Time"...

I've been using Glare for 2 years now. I REALLY like it. One application per year and it really does bead up the water for the entire year. It goes on and wipes off very easily as well. One bottle will do my 30'er 1.5 times.... 2 bottles every three years.

We just got our 2013 Airstream Interstate (extended) and couldn't be happier! It's is our very first RV and we have no experience whatsoever. We did great on our first trip....8,000 miles for five weeks. What a beautiful country!

My folks loved their Silver Streak for twenty-seven years. Of course there were things here and there along the way . . . so best of luck to the OP.
