Talking New Airstream joins MacScheck Family...

First of all - thanks to everyone on this forum! I have digested much information these past months. I have owned numerous trailers before and have towed all over this fine Continent of ours - this is my first Airstream - and at the cost of these babies I'm hoping to do this just one time so I really wanted to get it right the first time....

For myself - the "perfect" fit was one of the 25 foot Airstream models - a good fit of mobility vs livability as for where my photography and music take me - this is as small as I can go but big enough to be comfortable for days at a time.

I was very fortunate to find a "Brand New" 2009 25FB Airstream Classic Limited at a wonderful dealership located in New Jersey (special shout out to "Colonial Airstream") and as sometimes happens - the pieces all fell into place and I am thrilled with the final picture that has been revealed!

Thanks once more for accepting me as one of your members! I look very forward to continuing to be both a productive and active member of this forum as well as meeting you all out on the road in this great country of ours (to include our great friends on our Northern Boarder)...

So - Before anyone hollers - here are a few quick pics to share...

Thumbs up Congratulations!

John,
Sweet Airstream!!! I love the front bedroom layouts. I see you have the new Airstream owner Perma-grin going

Your profile says California...Did you drive coast to coast to pick it up at Colinial or did you have it delivered?

I live kinda on both coasts - but my "Tow Vehicle" is on the West Coast - so I'm gonna drive out East (have done it many times before ferrying vehicles back and forth - only 3-4 days) and then tow her back West with some stops along the way on her "Maiden Voyage"...

John,
Please be careful towing your new baby coast to coast. I know I wouldn't want that to be my first trip.

Congratulations

Beautiful trailer, I love the interior!
Funny, you are driving East to get your new Airstream, and Saturday we are driving West from South Texas to get our new 2010 FC23FB from Southwest Coaches in Irvine, CA.
Patrick in NJ was a big help talking to me on the phone, and may have beat the price I got in CA but with grandkids fifteen minutes from Irvine, and a very strong distaste for cold weather, we opted to go west.
I'm very jealous of your woodgrain cabinets and such. I went to Bates in Tampa FL, shopped Patrick's site for months looking at photos on the very best RV web page, and never saw one like yours.
We'll be happy with what we bought, but I'm gonna always have a little regret I didn't do more research on available interiors and order what you have. Maybe it isn't even available on the 23'.
Perhaps we'll meet on the road some day,
Matt

Been up there a few times - Colonial just had such a larger inventory and much better prices - since I live in both California and Maryland I can pay Maryland taxes (save over 1,800.00) plus will be nice to drive back West with it (after a few shakedowns locally in the DC area)...

The Southwest Coaches guys are nice - but since they are the only real local West dealers they just don't discount as much - plus they sometimes talk out there rear ends if they don't really know the answer - found the Colonial folks to be more honest - if they don't know they just say so - but followup and get back with a answer after a bit of research!

Either way - we are BOTH lucky to be in the Airstream club - these really are the BEST of the trailer world - and one can look forward to them being around for many years vice some of the disposable ten year units out there...

Special thanks to YOU MR. 2AirIsHuman!!!

Got some good warranty and towing service just in case - a few local shakedowns - won't veer too far off the main roads (this time at least)...

New Rig

Though I own a Vintage it's great when another new unit hits the road and turns heads. Looks like a lot of trailer for 25'. Congrats!

Thanks guys - yea - since I'll be towing from San Diego to Steamboat Springs a few times a year be neat to find some nice stops along the way!

So love the Vintage Airstreams as THEY ROCK - but I too own a vintage - well in another 25 years I'll own a vintage....

Didn't need a Classic - but for the price I just couldn't pass it up!

Congratulations!

We went to Colonial Airstream on 3/20 to pick up our new AS (to us) March 20th.

It is a used 2008 25FB (twin model).

The tow home was wonderful.

I really love those guys - they are no "baloney" kind of folks, know their products very, very, well - and are very easy to work with!

The 2008 25FB is a super trailer - you guys need to post some pictures when you can!!!

Heck - I must really like them - since my "Airstream" will be living on the West Coast - looking forward to the cross-country tow after a few local runs.
