New Airstream Combo not off to a good start
I bought an Avenue and an international 23d new and am really let down so far...de laminating walls on the avenue and a tv that rattles so bad down the road....the 23d A/c barely can keep up in 85 degree weather...the shower curtain was installed upside down and backwards...the latches wiggle loose...learned the hard way...
Someone tell me it gets better...thanks a bunch

Yes it gets better. Can you take it to the dealer to have a list of problems attended to? jim

I'd take it in for service ASAP. They will fix it and it will get better!

Been to the dealer three times now. The dealer kept trying to fix the shower curtain and didnt notice that it was upside down and backwards. They are trying....but it is there more than on the road.

Big Poppa,
Ofcourse there's more. These rigs like any, need continuous maintanance. Think of it as part of the adventure. Imagine your home that gives you very little trouble going through a constant earthquake and after a couple hours you run back inside to find only a drawer open and a few dishes cracked .
I cant explain the shower curtain being upside down but thats an easy fix. Just try to remember the feeling you get when you glance over at the airstream while your sitting by the campfire with a beer.
Enjoy the journey.. we will be here for the questions and updates..

Be thankful you have a dealer in your State to take it to.
We have been without one since our rig was NEW.

Welcome to the world of Airstream disappointments. Tom is right–we pay for what is said to be a quality product and then find shoddy workmanship and design issues.
Airstream has a number of incompetent dealers. We bought ours at one with a terrible reputation, but we didn't know. In the end we took ours to the Service Center at the factory where they do much better warranty work. It is crazy we went 1,400 miles, but we incorporated that trip in trips around the country, so we didn't lose anything.
I haven't noticed the constant stream of QC complaints that were on the forum a couple of years ago, so either things have improved and you got one of the problem ones. Ours had scores of problems and most of them got fixed. How long have you had it?
There's a lot positive about Airstream products, but for an RV they are about average in workmanship although the basic structure lasts a lot longer. If the dealer can't see a shower curtain is upside down, there are other dealers. If you can't get satisfaction, then you start writing to the company.
