Never ending.

I have found out having an Airstream things are just never ending. We had planned on our maiden voyage to be this weekend it has been our goal for the last month. First of all the weather has decided to take a change, as the weather man stated last night it will be the coldest weekend of the winter. So our plans are put off. So this morning as I'm putting the gaucho back in from the floor section we replaced I looked around and was thinking how nice it would be to replace the carpet and it would'nt take much and I could find a nice berber that would match my new cushions. It always seems like another 2 weeks an we will go camping. Does this happen to everybody?

Becky- if the projects on Chummy ever end I'll either have to go back to work or find a hobby. Camping in an Airstream is just part of the fun.

When we got our trailer our first trip was just outside our front door. We cooked and slept in the trailer as part of our shake down. OK, we did not use the toilet , but everything else. By the end of the "trip" we put together a list of things that we needed or wanted to bring with us. Check out the great campground!

In the last 2 weeks I have worked on the following:
1. Cleaned the shower, stripped old caulk from around the shower and re-caulked
2. Replaced 2 rivets in the shower trim to ceiling/wall and 2 rivets in the aluminum trim next to the wall seperating the refrigerator/upper cabinet to ceiling
3. Removed the 2 hinges holding the top fold over table to the bottom table, JB Welded the screws since 4 of the 8 had stripped the wood out and then glued the brown vinyl trim back into place
4. Orange Pledged the table tops, all wood and counter spaces
5. Cleaned the tires, 30 amp power cord, trailler umbelical cord and Rock Tamer mud flaps with Meguiar's Vinyl & Rubber Protectorant

I have just ordered SheetsUSA full size sheets, a double canister water filter system, additional RV books on State Parks and RV upgrades.

I plan on either ordering Camco Sinkmates for the sink or taking the plastic type cutting board material larger than my sink area and fitting it to my two 12" X 14" sinks.

I also need to repack bearings and look at brakes as soon as it starts to warm up.

Today we bought our second AS. It was totaled last year, and to fix it would cost well over $15000.00. We bought it to salvage everything we could in it. It's a 2002. We plan on putting alot of the things we needed on ours, electric jacks, refrigerator, cd player, water pump, etc. It has been sad though walking in it and seeing all the damage, it such a waste to see a good AS beyond repair. Our to do list just keeps getting longer and longer, maybe one day......

Well the weather man was right, snow in Mississippi. We have not had a good snow in 6 years. We got 1 inch last night Memphis got 3. My son got to play in it for a little while and then it was gone. Some of you may laugh at this cause you see lots of snow all the time but we will take the 1 inch anyday.
Maybe we will soon get that maiden trip in soon.
