Any inspectors in Central California? I'm outside of Fresno. Can pay fee/mileage within reason. Not looking for a resale report or picture essay. Trailer is not for sale. Just need a tour, info. Thank you.

Yes I am the proverbial babe in the woods. I am a newbie to this forum but I can see the community here is quite a good one. When I say I know nothing about Airstreams, except what they look like when they so gracefully cruise by me on the highway, I wouldn't be exaggerating. Although I do have a little history with them. I used to live in Sarasota, Florida. Where as many of you old-timers know was the home to their winter gathering for years. I haven't lived there since 1982 so I don't know if it's still going on. But as a kid I remember how the air streams cruised into my town by the hundreds albeit thousands. I used to marvel when I drove by the area where they were all parked to see one after the other of their shiny domes glistening in the sun. They all seem like they are having fun. Well now it's my turn, I have decided to purchase an Airstream but like I have stated above I really don't know anything about them. I have found one that I would like to take a look at and in desperate need of some help. It is in the Philadelphia area Northwestern to be exact. If any of you could spare some time and join me on an inspection run of this unit it would be greatly appreciated. Of course compensation for your expenses would be in order. And a free lunch as an added perk. I'm not looking for free ride here just someone to hold this baby's hand. The Airstream in question I have posted a photo of in the repair forum (ribs skins & rivets) take a look the link I included below. I would like to do this one day next week if possible or on the weekend. It's about a two-hour and 20 minute ride from my house. So I would drive down and meet you at a predetermined location and then we could go over together if possible. Anyone who might be able to help please PM me.

I have my sights set on a 94 Excell -34 footer in real nice shape...I was wondering if there was someone, willing to assist me for an hour or so in the San Diego area that can accompany me to give it the once over before I make an offer , Would really like to do in the next couple of days (12/26/06) THANKS a million....Ernesto 858.538.4424..

I have found a TV in Waterbury, CT, but hesitate to buy it without someone saying something favorable about the dealer, having delt with them, or looking at it, just to see obvious flaws. The salesman said it is very nice, in the condition that a 2005 with 21,000 miles on it should be. That is what has me concerned. We have a 2005 with 16,000 miles that is nearly perfect.

A couple of months ago I was looking at one on Ebay for sale by an auto dealer. Everything was supposed to be in very good condition. Luckily, I asked my stepson to take a look at it. It had obviously been repainted and the paint was even bubbling and rust was showing thru.

This person contacted me through my personal web site that features my trailer, and I have been giving her what information I know to help. She is paranoid, rightfully so, about buying a trailer long distance.

If anyone is in that area, and I can get more specific locations, PM me, and I will forward her information to you.

I have no interest in this other than helping out a future Airstreamer!
