Need 34' towed from Salt Lake City, UT to Eugene, OR

Hi fellow Streamers,

We've purchased a 1987, 34' Excella and need it towed to Eugene, OR from its current home in Salt Lake City. Our 1/2 ton Suburban 350 gasser is too puny for the job and we wondered if someone in the community with a mightier TV might be interested. Mapquest says it's 776 miles (From 84054 zip to 97403). We'd like to have it happen between September 15th and 30th, if possible.

Thanks!

Craig

Maybe this would be a good category to add to the classifieds? People could advertise towing services & post their towing needs like on hauler sites I've used.

Great suggestion! I've seen other posts prior to mine and after poking around for the right place to post, I opted for "Our Community", since I was addressing anyone in the community who was interested. A classified section would be cool.

On the other hand, the classified postings don't show up in "new posts" or the portal, so in my case, a forum member from the Salt Lake City or Eugene area who might not otherwise be interested in towing someone else's TT, would miss the post. Hmmmmm.

Have you looked at "uship.com" . . . you list your "need" and haulers bid on it. Basically gets rid of the "middle man", I believe you can pick the lowest bidder or who ever you feel most comfortable with. And then when the item is delivered you can leave feedback (like ebay) . . . and you can view previous feedback before choosing someone. Seems like a great idea.

Wished I could help, but I too only have a 1/2 ton Suburban. And I even have family in Eugene to visit while there. It would be a perfect two birds with one stone moment. Help a forum member and get to visit my sister...

Good luck and let me know if I can help with any arrangements here in SLC.

Regards,

Andy, that *would* be the perfect trip scenario! Thanks for the offer of local SLC help. Someday, we'll have a 2500 'Burb, but it won't be this year.

If it doesn't work out for someone here in the "family", I did check out uship.com and it looks like it's a good way of finding a professional hauler.
