All you have to do is get a Pentax K10D or K20D for a lot less and do the same!

Actually, until you have mastered the fundamentals it doesn't matter what equipment you have. Don't confuse gear with skill. When you have the skills, high performance equipment can be irreplaceable depending on what you are shooting.

Take II

The original launch fizzled for a variety of reasons. Today I decided to take a second swing at it. The site is VERY BASIC at the moment. Right now I have a story on Padre Island and a copy of the new favorite camping site map I have been working on. Hopefully, this go round I will get the htlm stuff worked out as well as the writing. Cheers!

I really like the idea of a clickable campground map, hope it really takes off!

Thanks Dennis, I think it will be better as more locations are featured.

Rick, the idea of the map is what got me going again. It looks to me like it is not editable from my page. Presumably if you open the Google link at the bottom you still can. Can someone check this?

Rodney,
It looks like your web site is really taking shape. I especially like the clickable map.

Thanks Dennis. The idea is to add maps of historical sites, natural features, scenic routes and so forth as time goes by. Right now I am just trying to work out the basics like html and the google stuff.

By the way, I just up loaded the second destinations article. Its the first in a series on New Mexico.

Rodney,
The cg maps is a fantastic idea, great potential. Can we add to it? How do we get the icon correct, and add a comment to the pop-up? Deb and I would love to share a couple or three places, if it will help and you want.

More comment would be nice to tell why this or that place is special.

Thanks for starting such a cool thing,

Jim

Thanks Jim, glad you like it! You should be able to click the link just to the bottom left of the map. This will open up the map in a "normal" google map page where you should be able to edit. If that doesn't work let me know and I will try and sort it out.

Big Change Comming up!

The url will be changing sometime this week to The Boondocker to better reflect the content.

I really wasn't happy with how the pages are laid out on the current site so I have been teaching myself some code. Who knew that columns, wrapped text and pull down bars were such a pain?

Then new site will feature a bookstore (linked to amazon) making it easy to get books that are reviewed there and a link section to travel and restoration blogs. If you want your blog linked just let me know. At this point, the site will not be hosting blogs nor are there plans at this time to do so in the future. I assume that it is OK to link your blog from here.
