Agree. This story surfaced just after we left Corpus Christi for our trip to the Southeast. Got back today and glad to hear they caught her too.

Welcome to the South Texas coast turk!

You probably answered this in the pet thread, but what breed is your doggie companion?

We have experienced murder of family members. Senseless.. We have waited 4 years while the “person of interest” sits in jail awaiting trial. Let’s hope they have the right person here and justice is appropriate.

I am so sorry for your loss. I now better understand where you are coming from on posts and will respond more appropriately to your posts as I better understand where you are coming from. I have friends who have some "issues" while camping in regions south.....and he was a San Diego Sheriff.
Again, I am so sorry for your loss and situation.

What does camping in regions south refer to? Mexico or SE USA or SW USA?

Hello everyone! Just wondering were the best and safest places to stay on South Padre Island? Never been there would like to go. The KOA couldn't accommodate us for any length of time in January.
It's really too bad about the Butler's. They were just trying to live there dream.

Thanks

Not sure that there are any good places right on the island. You could boondock on the beach or in one of the small campgrounds there, but you are right there in the salty air. There are quite a few nice places a few miles inland, and with hookups, too. Lots of "winter Texans" starting to fill those places up, though.

We stayed at Reed's RV Park in Corpus Christi a few years ago. Nice park. Haven't had a chance to get back there, but would like to one of these days.

Good grief: some "supervision," huh? Everyone should have a Doberman...I don't get no disrespect with my guy around. He's pretty intimidating to look at, and no one has ever done more than look and walk away.

Come on down! The county park Isla Blanca on the southernmost point of the island is very nice. We are here right now and more than half of the sites are available.

The park has been remodeled so don't worry about the old reviews posted. We feel very safe here and the police department patrols the area. We've met many here that come down year after year. This is not boondocking. It costs about $650/month for full-service hookups.

Amazing that a stolen truck and trailer can be driven across a secure border by someone who looks like that guy. If I ever wondered about border security those questions have been answered.

Driving into Mexico is very easy.

The border is really only secure when crossing from Mexico into the US.

Although some think that should change...

IF someone who looks like 10 miles of bad road can drive someone else’s truck across the border after killing them, it DOES need to be more secure.
