Mobile America....

I was surfing around the airstream website a few weeks ago and saw they had a PBS video called Mobile America.

So I checked our local library had a copy and I just watched it tonight.

Nice video about all kinds of older vintage trailers including some Airstreams but also many others.

Just a heads up, check your library.

This is the same show that ran on PBS last year...I enjoyed it & bought the video. It's a fun one to watch with other vintage groupies.

Just ran out to the Evanston, IL library and picked it up myself! Tonight it'll be the me n' the wifey, a bowl of popcorn and a whole hour of vitage trailers!

Finally....

I had a wish list set for Mobile America and its going to play on Sunday 6/19 @ 3:30 pm on our local PBS station. Channel 6 in the SF bay area.

So set your recorders! It will be a good one to add to my DVD collection

This show is independently distributed to public television stations as a fundraising special. So, broadcast will vary depending on when the local station schedules pledge week and how it calculates its audience. But Sunday for the Bay Area is pretty cool for the folks out there!

As I have read, these kinds of programs are independently distributed, offered in abridged form (with mock pledge breaks) for free to local stations. Stations then have to purchase materials given as premiums. These are sold at a low rate, but high enough to offer a bulk profit to the producers.
