Question Mileage/Maintenance Log

Has anyone made their own log for mileage and maintenance for their Airstream? I'm looking for something that includes date, mileage of trip and any maintenance performed at a minimum. I would also consider location left from and location arrived along with times. Is there such an animal out there? I looked at a couple log books at Campers World but was not satisfied with the content. Thanks. Craig

You might want to look at the truckers log books that are for sale in most of the larger truck stops. I think that they may have what you are looking for.

Brett,
That's something I hadn't even thought about. Where is my brain when I need it? The forum helps again! Craig

Log

Yes, I have utilized a bound Composition Book, and it is titled
Maintenance and Operations Log. In it, since Day 1, under date for each entry I post Trips, speedometer, departure and destination or arrival site if on a trip. Date of All incidents, repairs, maintenance, and any items of interest. I believe such a log is essential for keeping scheduled maintenance, costs of operations and maintenance and history of travel of vehicle.

Dr. Joe,
Are the pages a standard 8 1/2 by 11 or another format size?

I have found truckers logbooks in office supply stores also.

I keep two Excel spreadsheets- one for mileage and one for maintenance. I find the formulas for adding up the miles are quite simple and I start a new one every January 1.

Re: Log

David:
The Book I bought, I got at an Office Supply locally. It is a "MEAD Five Star Composition Book. Bound dark blue flexible hardboard cover. 200 pages, 93/4 x 71/2 inches. ruled at 5/16 with red vertical date space. IDC "0 43100 09120 . You can order it on the internet at: http://www.meadweb.com
It is just the right size - fits into glove compartmentntenance and Operations Log. [/B][/QUOTE]

My method is a manila envelope, to contain all my receipts for repairs, and mantenance. On the outside i have a sheet of lined paper attached with a running list of what I have fixed, maintained, or replaced. It keeps it all together, and tucked into my Airstream's documents pouch. No big deal, but it works.
