We've been in the low to mid 90's, which is typical for us, here in North Central Florida. Yeah, that's hot, by most folks standards. Our A/C unit has been on the fritz, with a small freon leak in the evaoporator coil. It is no fun to come home to a 90 degree house inside.
Thank God, we have a lot of springs, with 72 degree water to jump into!

Whew it's hot! Just got back from a few days camping at Lake Anna State Park (Virginia). A new park with water and electric. Nice! With the heat index around 104 the past few days, we were either at the lake's beach cooling off or in the AC at the trailer.

Brownout
Although the "energy crisis" has passed in the news, there are still "rolling blackouts" going on here. They put one into action in Pleasanton and probably other cities as well, last night around 8 pm. Fun BBQing by candlelight and swimming in the light of propane torches, but power sure is nice.

Hot! Nice! Then back to Hot!
Well folks,
Here in Yreka it has been between 100 - 105 degrees. Very unusual for this straight hot spell. We usually have a couple of weeks each summer we actually turn our air conditioner on... but yikes! This has been much to long already!
Love your picture, Chris! A little snow sprinkle on the top of your Caravel!
We just got back from San Francisco visiting our son... the city was perfect, about 75 degrees. However, once you get about 5-10 miles from the ocean it seems to begin to warm up... drove back home via Hwy 1 right on the coast and it was very nice until we had to come inland again.
I keep looking at the NOAA website and they just aren't predicting anything I want to read!
Tall glass of iced tea, the air conditioner, my computer ~ life really is pretty good after all.

Try standing in a river waving a stick
I found that at the Lake Greeson tailrace in Pike Co. AR, where the water temp is 59F in the morning after a generator release the previous day, I can stand there in my waders and not complain about the 100F air above the water! Plus, the trout are biting!

Hot in Eugene
Janet,
You must have been the only person in town not at Amazon Pool this afternoon. What a day to host a birthday party with 15 11 year old girls. By 6 o'clock I swear the water was 20% sunscreen.
I was certain I could hear a beer calling my name from the fridge at home. And when I got home I found I was right!
Cheers,
Brian

Good news------It was only 96 degrees in Wasco America yesterday!!!
Bad news-------That was inside the house !!!!It hit 109.5 outside---------------------So I thought I would have one of those "oh pick me oh pick me" beers--went to the refer and found that I only had one beer in there---it did not say "oh pick me"---It only squeeked and ran to the back of the refer---had a hell of a time finding the little bugger but did finally kill it !!
Guess I should have bought an AC for the house instead of ordering a new Zip Dee awning for the motorhome ............
