Maintenance with AS in Storage

We are new AS owners and are looking for ideas to maintain our trailer. We cannot keep the AS at our house due to covenants in our neighborhood, so something as simple as washing and waxing it becomes difficult. How do others take care of the routine maintenance? Do you take it to the dealer? We can't even get it in our driveway because of a hill. I'm not sure we could pull off the washing and waxing in the street!

I have waxed a couple of times at a campground- when we are in the same place for a week.
I have taken the trailer to a Blue Beacon truck wash once back in October.

About 45 miles from you. You can get the cheapest wash from Blue Beacon and then hangout on their property to do self detailing and waxing.

Thanks so much! I've driven by that truck wash so many times and it didn't even dawn on me that we could take the trailer there. It's only about 10 miles from us and I work just down the street. It might just be a stop on the way to storage after our trip this week.

I use Blue Beacon for my Airstream Interstate, because my apartment complex doesn't allow anyone to wash and wax in the parking lot, even though they allow me to store my Interstate there.

Blue Beacon doesn't wax vehicles. But you can get a spray-on Rain-X treatment. In general terms, Rain-X is to wax as whitewash is to paint, when you're applying it to metal instead of glass.

Be sure to remind them not to spray directly into your furnace or fridge exhausts. Make sure the propane appliances are turned off, too.

Also make sure all of your vents/skylights are closed. They use long extension wands to do the roof, and can spray directly into a roof opening without realizing it, because they can't really see up there.

On the plus side, they'll do your tow vehicle and trailer at the same time, for one price. And you can probably get them to spray the trailer's belly pan while they're at it. Ask when you first pull in.

Thanks Protagonist. If the weather is good, we will try Blue Beacon on Saturday.

Hi from AZ. . . you might want to look around at other storage facilities. Ours has a 2 bay coin operated wash facility, & a 110 volt outlet at each space ( think buffer/polisher)......can't keep mine at home either..... Just a thought, and regards, Craig
