Maiden voyage

Just back from our first trip in the 64 ambassador. Actually it was our first RV experience -- Also our first trailer tow.

We left New Jersey and found out there was some weather along our planed route along the Blue Ridge Pkwy. we opted for 95 instead

It was a fairly non-eventful drive down 95 being a little bit more tolerable than I had anticipated my expectations were low for excitement but was pleasantly surprised by some of the towns that we stopped off in

Once we arrived in Orlando to meet the seller I was disappointed to see he had not installed my pro Pride hitch. He had hurt himself a few days before and just didn't give himself enough time.

Luckily I had brought down a lot of tools and had mostly everything I needed for the install. I took my time and very carefully read the instructions and by the end of the day I had it done I was glad that I did it so I can fully understand what was going on and how all the parts interacted with each other it was also helpful because there was some things I need to be addressed on the road and without the experience I would've been looking at a massive metal structure not knowing what was what. Sean from Propride was amazing answering my questions along the way it was as if I had him with me. It turned out my trailer frame was a bit sin and needed to be **** and temporarily I just use some nuts to keep them straight worked like a charm.

The trailer towed beautifully behind our 2003 Toyota Sequoia. The truck had plenty of power and we yelled and 11 miles per gallon on average.

It was a memorable trip and a great first tell 2300 miles

I had lots of help from the folks on this form and I'm grateful to have met this wonderful community.

Congratulations on your successful maiden voyage. It sounds like you had an overall good experience. It is actually fortunate that you had to install your ProPride. That experience will serve you very well in the future.

If you have any pictures from the trip, we would love to see them.
