Lucky Day

Hey, Everybody.
Today I was out checking junk shops and antique shops for some small silver colored SnP shakers. I came across a small stack of older National Geographics, some of them before pictures on the covers. Now I know that there was one or more from the later 50s that featured a Wally Byan Carravan Through Europe.
I am happy to say that one of them was the June 1957 issue.
pgs. 769- 816, I havent read it yet but there are some good pictures. One of my favorites is a down the line shot, I counted 20 trailers till they faded into the distance. Another is an overhead view of a greeting reception,I think there's 8 or 9 trailers in that one. There is a couple shots of Wally himself, holding court.
Out of a half dozen or so shops.
That one National Geo. was all I bought but it was still a good day junk shopping.
Silverhawk, Bob

Great find. Don't ya love it when you can spend time softing thru junk and come up with a prize?
I found my mud flaps at a store's street liquidation sale....rubbermaid, brand new in the box for a ridiculous price.

No scanner. That would be a good addition to my machine though.
The library levy passed in our town last night. Maybe I could see if they would help me scan the article...

One fellows trash is another fellows treasure.

My grandparents used to save all their NGs. They had at least 30 years worth upstairs at their home.

I wonder what ever happend to them all......

You know what is neat, and although its not paper, you can get the entire series of NG's on CD. I've occasionally seen the CD collection at Sam's Club in the computer software area.

I think they also have a collection of maps from NG also.
