At work I was a safety coordinator as a collateral duty, so I feel your pain. Trying to promote safety is often a thankless task— being called a "Safety Nazi" is no fun no matter the context.

But you can be a troll even if you're just presenting objective fact in a dispassionate manner— if you continue to belabor the point even after the intended recipients dismiss your contribution. In other words, if you keep trying to help folks who don't want your help, you might be a troll.

So if you say your piece and the folks on the thread jump on you about it, best to unsubscribe from the thread, then "ignore" the thread, and leave them to make their own mistakes without even an "I told you so"— because saying "I told you so" is definitely troll behavior.

So what you are saying is if you comment on a thread and are rebuffed or ignored and later are proven partially or totally correct you are a troll and that doesn't give you the right to gloat a little even if those who belittled you don't man up? That's just giving in to forum bullies.

What annoys me is when a know it all simply cuts and paste a long winded discourse from the Internet and passes it it off as original thought and post.

What annoys me the most is when people get annoyed at what I do when they're annoying me.

We all know that Trolls can be bad. Have you not all read the book "The 3 Billy Goats Gruff" where the Troll tries to eat the billy Goats but thanks to the big billy goat (the moderator in this case) are saved.

Tom, Burt and William enjoying an evening of fellowship and smores around a well made campfire. It was all fun and games until the sun came up.

Here's another troll that I've seen in person.

The Fremont Troll... under the Bridge at the Center of the Universe

I believe a troll is either a chronic agitator, or someone here posting who is not who he/she represents themselves to be.

The rest of us are just....us. Sometimes we're happy, sometimes we're sad, sometimes all things in between. Most Forums participants are tolerant and supportive of others opinions.

It's a community....the good, the bad, and the ugly.

It's all here.

Many who post here often are guilty at some point of pressing submit in an emotional moment.....we are human, after all.

Apologizing is always a good idea, in these instances.

That applies equally well to trolling for fish or on the internet. The Harry Potter movies have some mean Mountain Trolls.

Hypothetically of course, Do you mean like someone that may or may not of gotten banned and post under his wife's name for 3 months or so?
