Is this the Rosebud of which we speak.....A legacy in your heart I'm sure.

Godspeed.

I was going along the lines of this:

Do you have that much stuff in your Airstream. I think I do.

Hello,

Well it is not Rosebud, but it was and still is a tangible item. As I was running out of time getting ready to go to the hospital, I decide to take money I had received for a painting of mine and tuck it away in the trailer. I remember it was just a few hundred dollars, placed into a plain envelope. I wanted to put it somewhere that was in an obvious place, but not where someone that might break in would be thinking to look. At first I almost tucked it into a cookbook on the counter in a stand, then thought, what if I never use that book or I give it to the person who had loaned it to me without thinking...So I tucked it somewhere else. That is the small portion of time that still eludes me, I have gone over the places that were discussed and still it has not turned up. I still remember thinking later, I put it where money would go and for some reason thinking it was a funny sort of pun. However, I have a feeling that one day it will show up when it is least expected and I will be happy to share some of it with the person or persons who came closest. In the meantime, many of you made my slow recovery so much more tolerable, and had me laughing at the ingeniousness of your hiding places. I will do my best to send out some of my new art work to those I enjoyed the most. Thank you for trying to help me find my lost "Rosebud." The idea for the contest came to me when I figured I needed some help, but then a friend was worried if I flat out said, "Hey, I got a bunch of money here in my trailer and can't find it." I might possibly have some late night visitors who located my trailer and decided to scoop it all up for themselves. Fortunately that has not been the case, even friends who came and tried to find it, clues and all, went away empty handed. Sorry for the stalemate ending, I truly thought this one person had it all figured out and it turned out to be a big evening full of hot air…

Good, Lord; that stuff is happening to me. I hid a peticure gift certificate, a Christmas present to my DW, and still have not found it! She still gets a peticure....maybe two. Just look forward to the day you 'discover' the money in a pocket....and then it will be found treasure.
Neil.

Good luck,
Hope it works better for you,
I am still trying to find mine....

How about in the gaucho arm?

I know what's goin on here. Carol really lost something and figured the easy way to find it is to have us do the work.

I know I am a little late but maybe these places will help:

Did you check inside the stove or microwave? Or inside the cabinet the heater thermostat is located? "Money to burn"

How about under the flooring (rugs/loose tiles/etc.)? I used to hide money in flat envelopes there sometimes.

Carol, your memory may be confused about what large container you put it in. It could be in your truck or your house (you do live somewhere besides the trailer, don't you?).

Well I think we might finally be on the right track!
I have been teaching my dogs, Mike and Vige to be search and rescue dogs, mostly to help me, but then mostly out of sheer boredom. Motivation turns out to be the key.
Mike: Ball
Vige: Food
Cats:
A: Belle Food
B: Anna Affection
Mine: Lately: Peace of mind
Getting some work done
Making them listen to me
The Results:
Each of them wants to play
Motivation can change
Keep them interested
The game can go on forever
Visual cues and auditory cues can be learned:
a) treats
b) sound of treats
Now they are ready to listen to me if I use those cues

Perhaps they can locate the money,
you made me think this since you wanted to win
I still want to win..

I will let you know if it works,
because they are bugging the ____out of me right now
to keep playing,

Your friend,
cclarkego
and multitude of game obsessed pets
photos to follow

The problem is how to make the game be over. We have not figured out that trick yet.
Mike: Hates to get wet
Vige: Hates to get in trouble
Cats: A: Hates to be jumped on by dogs
B: Hates, no she could care less, she is BIG and has CLAWS
If anyone bothers her, you can imagine the consequences....

Carol,

Great pictures! Wish I had ESP, I would know where you hid that $ and tell you so you would have the money and I could win a piece of your artwork!

Hope you are taking good care of yourself.

Maggie

WE HAVE A WINNER!

This morning my stove in my house quits and in desperation I decide to haul all the stuff I need to make waffles out of the trailer and then go back one more time to look for the instruction book on my new waffle iron. I pull out the folder stuffed with instruction books from just inside my Airstream Manual and as I am about to put it away, I notice a white envelope from my doctor with my hospital admit info. What the heck is this doing in there? Thank God I peek inside before that little flick of the wrist sent it into the trash can........... It was just a small sum of money I had tucked away for my art supplies, but it couldn't have come at a better time

Strangely enough, the night before I got one of those emails where you need to make a wish and then forward it on to 12 other people. Well you can guess my wish and usually I never act on those things, but the quote was so good, I decided to do it.

Here is the quote:

Quotation:
'May today there be peace within. May you trust that you are exactly where you are meant to be. May you not forget the infinite possibilities that are born of faith in yourself and others.. May you use the gifts that you have received, and pass on the love that has been given to you. May you be content with yourself just the way you are. Let this knowledge settle into your bones, and allow your soul the freedom to sing, dance, praise and love. It is there for each and every one of us..'

AND THE PRIZE GOES TO........redstart!
PM me your address so I can send you your painting

Congratulations,

Carol

how sweet the sound....

Got your message Carol, it's always nice to find lost $$ isn't it!

I am afraid that sending me a painting might cost you more than the money you just found since I live on the other side of the continent AND in Canada! A painting sounds lovely but it would warm my heart if you just bought your doggies a treat from me instead. You can say it's from this cute girl named Jersey (my dog).

Love your stories and your pics!!! Now i have to go get caught up on everything - haven't checked this forum in a while!!!

Congratulations on finding your lost treasure.
Now, maybe you can help me find my iPod... It's about 2x3, white, and was last seen on my coffee table...

Alas, another missing iPod

Indeed, congrats, Carol. At least you haven't completely lost your marbles.

Sorry to hear about your troubles, Terry. Mine is missing, too. Last seen on the arm of the couch (?) in the trailer...
