Looking for suggestions

Need a campground, or parking space, for four days in Early November in Charlotte, NC area. The show we are attending is southof I-485, and west of I-77.
Unfortunately, the facility where the show is does not allow overnight parking.
We don't need much, but do need room to put up x-pens for the dogs.
All suggestions and/or recomendations gratefully received!

My company has an office around Charlotte so I emailed a camping nut in that office and this is what he said:

not allot of choices in that region. I've never been here but heard it's pretty nice. Sixty miles any direction opens up allot more choices, but then you have to drive.
