!?! Looking for Airstream!?!

How long did you look for your first Airstream before you found one? I have been looking for what seems forever and have not really came up with anything. I want something under 19' foot and have not had any luck(I don't want it to cost me a arm and a leg) I would even pay a little more on something that didn't need alot of work. My top dollar is $6000. Do you think I will ever find anything or should I keep saving my pennys?

I spent 18 months looking for mine. Could have found one quicker but I knew exactly what I wanted

Smaller Airstreams are more in demand and ofter go for higher prices. A vintage unit under 19 feet in that price range will go quickly. Keep looking, your trailer is out there!

I only spent 8 months looking for mine. I found it here on AirForums when the PO sent me a PM and asked if I was interested in buying his trailer.

I hear you AS friend. Now that I've talked the hubby into the AS purchase we are finding our Dream Stream is not often offered for sale used. Some day the moons will align and we'll both find our Airstream! Keep the faith

How about that $6000 17' Caravel in the classifieds? Doesnt' looks like toooo much work, and its $6000 Bambi cousin from the same seller disappeared in a matter of hours.
Good luck!

I found a 72 Safari 23' without even looking for one. (cost $3500) It only took 5 minutes. We had the trailer for 4 years until it was totaled. Just bought a 2008 Safari, took two years to find what I wanted. Hang in there. You can find what you want. Check Ebay often.

Thanks to all, I posted a wanted ad in the classifieds today, so maybe someone wanting to sell will contact me. I also check e-bay every day. I looked at the caravel in the classifieds, but when I called the guy to ask about it and send more picture I got no response.

I did, I contacted Dan @ Vintage Campers in Peru, IN. He had a 1961 Globetrotter located and when he got it back to shop, I made a beline for it. I bought it and am redoing it. I have got all the inside stripped and hopefully get the new floor in this weekend.

Great job on finding your unit!! I'm still looking. Need a 30' with a dinette and twins late 1990's to full time in Redding, Ca. $ 18,500 max budget. I'm finding so many on the east coast!
