Logging in problems

It just took me about a dozen attempts to log in. I am entering exactly the same user name and password and keep looping back through the "welcome - thank you for logging in" followed by "you are not authorized, please log in". Somehow I escaped - I hate to attribute it to certain hand gestures I was making toward the computer screen, but obviously there's a bug. BTW I use AOL to access this forum.

Now I'm goting to attempt to make another post - which was my original purpose for logging on in the first place.

Tin Lizzie,

They tell me (they being the support people) "it's in your computer" funny, "my computer" is working fine every where else I go and with every program I run. But on the forum, I can't vote on polls, view pictures that have been attached to post , or locate my little balloon on the NEW forum map. I was on the first forum map but I get a message saying there is a data base error, please try again later. I guess you have a BAD computer also.

Ray

Try Clicking "Remember Me"

Had similar problems after one of many upgrades, and try clicking to put X in box labeled "remember me".. It won't remember your password or login from session to session, but it will remember you long enough to go from screen to screen and post or reply to a message, at least in my experience...

Thumbs up Eureka

John, you're right. Clicking "Remember Me" was what I did differently.

Yippeee! Bad design, but if you know the secret handshake you can get in.

Happy to help...

Sometimes, in the absence of a 13 year old to solve computer problems, we just have to muddle about a little longer... Our moderators and site managers do a great job keeping this running, but every once in a while, it takes some secret words or a handshake to get it right...

Tin Lizzie -
I believe the moderators have secretly put a camera in some of our screens just so they can all see the hand gestures and faces we make while on the forums. I'm not certain but have been suspicious for awhile now.
