Lip batteries

Does anyone know if AS offers Li batteries as an option? I don’t see it on the AS website or in the brochures. I have not asked a salesman at this time.

Has anyone installed Li batteries. Nothing has come up after I did a search here.

Visit the Electrical/Battery section for lots of threads related to the Lithium upgrade process and actual requirements. As an FYI, they are not LiPo, you don't want LiPo in your trailer...you would want LFP or LiFe batteries to assist on any searches you take on. There _many_ threads in http://www.airforums.com/forums/f449/

Summary of actual requirements:
* upgrade converter/charger
* add battery monitoring system (e.g. Victron BMV-712)
* upgrade solar charge controller (possibly, depending on model)
* modify charge circuit from tow vehicle

I think they equip some products with AGM batteries and probably any dealer would work an AGM upgrade into a deal (which might be a good workaround for dealers who don't maintain batteries installed in their RV inventory) but I've never heard of Airstream installing any exotic-chemistry batteries thus far.

FYI the new search function above in the blue box works great. The old search function [as one link in the blue menu bar above] is more difficult to use IMO, although you can toggle on "Show Posts" as one helpful option.

Also when you pull up the sub-forum recommended earlier:

http://www.airforums.com/forums/f449/

. . . you can "Search This Forum" on the top right to get only results from that forum.

The general search noted at the beginning of this post will do a wider search of the entire AF site.

Good luck!
