Ok, before Karma went away, I had a Safari full of Karma points, now it seems I have 24, but the real question besides what happend to all my old Karma points, is what can I do with them? Are they just litmus test type thing to show the usefulness of posts?
By the way, who let Roger out of his cage? Where have you been Roger? Can't be that much crime in your part of Iowa!

Silver twinkie, you don't need to fret about Karma, I think it gets better when you give it away.
It seems like it's a way to give out virtual attaboys. I say this, since I can't see anyone's Karma except my own. My Karma seems to go down when I give it away. Hoarding it just doesn't keep the old "what comes around goes around" nature of karma going.
So, I suppose the point is to get rid of it as fast as you get it. It seems to be a nice thing to pass along.

Well in the old days of Karma, there were rumors and fables of being able to trade in Karma points for t-shirts, stickers, etc if they every worked out the license agreements with Airstream. Now that those agreements seem to be either done or close (given the fact that Airstream now has ads on this site), I was just wondering if the same was true or if Karma in fact has taken on a Grateful Dead type of thing.

HaHa, I just dumped a load of karma on Silvertwinkie.
And I tried to splash some on Mary, but I already had spilled some on her earlier so she is protected. ???

I don't understand how you know how many? I'm still wondering what happened to all the karma we had a year ago, and who hijacked it and cashed it in on decals.

As I recall, karma points were used to buy posters of world famous model Karma Electra. Please transfer any spare karma points to my account.

Karmon...enough is enough
I don't think that you can check who gave you Karma nor are you able to check somebody elses good or bad Karma. I've already dished out my supply of Karma for the day
I see we have more "smilies" too. Some are not so smilie I think that the most useful thing would be to please FIX THE MEMBERS PHOTO LINK that's been dead for months.
Whoever has the most good Karma at the end of the month wins a Karman Ghia, I think.

I wonder if all previous karma points were confiscated by Airstream for the AIR Forum decals not being licensed?

Lol... I am looking into solutions to bring back the old karma. It was calculated very differently so I have to see how it would effect our current sytem. I'll explain all the details on karma over the weekend when I have some time to outline the details of how everything works... Can you figure out the formula before I post it? First person to figure it out before the official announcement will win a free sticker!

OOOOH, a contest!
Hi Andy.
The old method of awarding karma points was explained on:
http://www.airforums.com/forum...=&threadid=994
The upside of having other members determine your karma would be encouragement to participate and think carefully about what you are going to say. The downside would be that deducting karma could lead to hard feelings and arguments.
I wouldn't be fond of redeeming hard earned karma points for prizes, since the number of points you have on hand up would be a reflection of how other members perceive the value of your postings.
Maybe you could establish levels, like 1,000 points gets you a sticker, 5,000 wins a t shirt, 100,000,000 wins a new International CCD etc, but only one of each prize per account.

I think it is bad chi to bring back the old karma points and co-mingle them with the new karma. Makes my head hurt.
