Jacks should have a hard rubber flat pad on top to distribute the load os the jack evenly across the frame member. I made a 4 X 4" pad that fits may floor jack and another that fits on my bottle jack post. There are some companies selling ready made post pads and extensions for that purpose. Google it.

Just cut a piece out of an old truck mud flap.

Black Rock Canyon in Joshua Tree comes to mind.

Dito on the bottle jack! It's the easiest way to lift a truck or trailer. Just be sure to chock the wheels!

I tow a 30 footer and carry both a bottle jack and a floor jack.

If I were in a single axle I'd surely have a floor jack on board.

Thx for posting both the original Q and this elec jack. I intend on buying this when I get home. I will take off the tire of my single axle trailer, lower. To the ground and see where to put jack and if it will then lift. Ie in worst possible situation. Currently on the road will be home mid Nov.

You may be shocked when you see how little room you have to stick a jack, when replacing a flat tire.

I put together a bottle jack kit from this place

https://safejacks.com/collections/bo...ck-accessories

Everything fits in one bag and with the proper accessories it can work in almost any situation.
