Shari,

Is the one you got for $50 the same as the one that went for $585?

If so, nice going!!

No, but I have a California trailer so it didn't matter to me.

Are CA units worth more because they were manufactured in CA?

Was that Wally's work location?

John

p.s. tks for the history!- hey, another poll-where was your A/S born?

Wally Byam originally started manufacturing the Airstream in southern California, in the Los Angeles area.

Reason for price?

Maybe it was the oily stuff that made it valuable?

Or maybe something could be learned by the buyers handle (name).

Dmc,

experimental...

Hmm, that looks like an experimental model, that's not your typical factory label or emblem on it, it might be the only one in the whole wide world, I'll go TEN!!!

Hmmm......

Maybe I should buy a ton of these, hold onto them for 20 years, then sell them on Ebay, (if it still exists) That will be my retirement fund!

Hey John....

I'll swap you a new 2x8 for your old one, and I'll pay shipping! Just don't be surprised to see it on E-bay for$100 'cause it was an original "wooden" Airstrem jack stand! Oscar
