It's Official - our first Airstream
We bought a used 2008 Safari. Our first trip will be in April.....we can't wait. Thanks to all who gave advise in our search. We really didn't think we would find something this soon.

April?
Why wait until April?
Just hook up and go somewhere. Anywhere.
Enjoy your new toy.

It's a Safari SE FB (Twins) 25'. It has a lot of extras.
We have a school aged child (8 yr old) so we cannot use it until April vacation. We'll be headed to Florida for 2 weeks.

Congratulations on your acquisition. If you take care of it you'll be able to hand it down to your nine year-old later on. Do the maintenance and keep the shell clean and it will last a couple of lifetimes.
My advice is to start out with short trips close to home. Take the time to get the feel of towing it. There is a lot to learn about the basics of trailering such as hooking up and unhooking, dumping the tanks, backing up, etc, as well as the lifestyle. Enjoy the education process. Join the Club and participate. Keep active in the Forums. Find a knowledgeable mentor and don't be afraid to ask questions. Once you are a seasoned Airstreamer give back to the community and help a newcomer.

They lives in New Hampshire. It's December. That's why.
You live in Walnut Grove, you wouldn't understand.

Congrads! We are new to streaming also! (sold moho) We bought in Sept. and drove 1,400 miles the first trip to Winter in FL. Lovin' it!! We also love NH, maybe visit this Summer. Selling our home in CT and maybe tour with the "Airdreamer" in the Summers for a while. When in FL, give a call! Where you going??

congratulations! we're in FL and if you need any advice on FL parks for younger families we're happy to offer some guidance (we have no kids but are proabably about your age and would have similar interest in camp grounds). there are many great state parks. reserve early because they are popular with everyone up north!

Thanks all for the warm welcome.
We have been avid RV'ers for 25+ years......just not Airstreamers. We just sold our motorhome this fall and decided to buy an Airstream so we will have a usable RV in 20 years...if you know what I mean.
We had a 5th wheel many years ago but have not towed anything for a while (truck campers and motorhomes) so we will have a 'towing' learning curve. Other than that things should be easy to pick up.....hooking up, awnings, etc.
We are going to Ft. Wilderness in Disney in April. We've been there many times and our daughter loves going to the parks. We love the campground. It's a long trip but worth it when we get there.
I hope to be around for a long time.
