It's a Boy!!
Our big, bald bundle of joy has arrived! He is 27' 11" long and weighs a healthy 5600 pounds. Here are a few shots of the new addition:
All the way from Colorado on a flatbed:
He needs a bit of a bath (guess what we're doing today):
We would like to give a special "Thank You" to Allen and his wife who generously performed a voluntary inspection for two complete strangers half way across the country. Your generosity is unmatched and your help was invaluable. Also, thank you to everyone on the forums for your knowledge and insight. Last, but not least, a sincere thank you to Brian McCabe for his hands-on assistance and input. I'm sure we will see each other on the road (with or without our Airstream's behind us).
I will post some more pictures of our new Safari once he's cleaned up.

Congrats on the new Baby!
Wow, he's here! Have you selected a name for him yet? I'm glad he arrived safely.
Give me a call when he's ready for company. I would love to come over and see him. Also, if you need any help with anything, give me a call.
Brian

How do you know it's a boy? Did you look under the banana wraps?

Brian, we have selected a name, but we are waiting on our trip to the DMV to get his plate issued before releasing it (some things you can never be too careful about ). I'll call you when he's ready for a visit.

Haha! Well, being a male myself, I usually think that anything such as a truck, boat or travel trailer holds a certain feminine quality and gets a feminine name. However, our Airstream is the Safari model, came from the mountains of Colorado and was used on hunting trips.... it just screams man cave.
Question ~ Does anyone recall a link that was posted where you can check online to find out what names are still available for license plates in various states? I had it bookmarked at one point and it has disappeared on me and I wanted to make sure ours was still available.
Thanks,
David

Absolutely gorgeous, and there's nothing like the smell of a new one.
Congratulations, and travel safe,

Thanks Maggie, it's not brand new, but it is new to us. He has about 5K miles on him. A little TLC and he'll be ready to go.

That's kinda funny - as mines a "Girl"....
Just like the great liners of the day - plus when I'm inside its just like being back in the "womb"...
OK - now I'm getting a bit weird but heck - it's Friday...
