Maurice, that looks exactly like the "over the door" light my '72 has. So ya finally made it up there! Very cool place. I can't wait for an excuse to drive out there again!

On the day I took the tour, they had about 4 34 footers on the line, mostly 22's and 25's.

Cool I WANT ONE

NOW I REALLY WANT ONE!

Thanks Maurice, you just escalated my envy by 100%

I checked a few dealers online and on RV Trader Online, but found nothing new in terms of pricing or details. The big price tag is the only barrier left between me and that nifty little CCD ....

TOO CUTE!!!

And who says nice things don't come in small packages!? They need to deliver it in that proverbial little blue box like other small B.S.O.'s!

Sweet, the addition of a shower gives it a big thumbs up from me. Full size stationary bed, a dinette, a kitchen, what more could you want? Looks like the modern incarnation of our Caravel. I thought the airstream guys must have been nuts to make it without a shower - should have known they'd figure it all out.

The plant tour sounds like fun. I hope we make it out that way someday and get to partake in it as well.

From someone who thought orange was cool on '74 Pintos (LOL), it seems a bit much to me 29 years later. Frankly, with that orange, if they'd replace the white in the CCDs with black, like the wardrobe, they'd be turning out Harley biker bar trailers, ready for neon beer signs. The tiny frig's won't hold enough beer though. They really look like white and black linoleum checkerboard flooring would fit right in.

Seriously, orange and other intense shades of red are stressful... fast food restaurants use them so you won't stay so long. The black wardrobe is overwhelming too, like that big thing in 2001 Space Odessey, and combines with the aluminum interior to give a dark look. I personally think lighter shades of blue, or aqua if they wanna go retro, would really open them up visually.

But maybe that's the idea... so that owners will get visually tired of them and trade up rather than redo the interiors.

BTW, they had a wood grained vinyl flooring in a couple that I thought was the real thing. Pretty cool.

THAT IS TOO GOOD!!!!

I don't know, though, I'd always kind of thought of them as a herd of Airstreams... must be that I was raised around too many livestock

Here's a question for you... what do you do when the herd of Airstreams stampede? Just curious in case I find myself in those dire circumstances!

OK, OK, never mind... it's off-topic!!!

Question Wrap-around windows?

Hey, is it just the angle of the picture, or does RoadKingMoe's picture (above) reveal that Airstream has deleted the wrap-around window on the rear (bedroom) end of the International CCD 16' ?

That would be a shame. The front and rear wrap-around windows made the prototype CCD 16 seem very airy and open. If it's gone, I suppose they probably went to a smaller window as found on the front of the Safari and Bambi.

I wonder what other changes have been made since the prototype pictures started showing up on the net?

CCD 16

Was at the airstream dealer again last week to inquire about the 16'. Have held off getting the Bambi after seeing the CCD's which are really cool. With a shower think this is the one even though I would like the 22' but can't tow it with a car. I'm supposed to be called when one can be ordered. Really do like the orange interior though think the 22CCD is better colors.

CCD

I find the CCD design a welcome departure from the interiors on most RV's, including some but not all of the new Airstreams. I personally am very impressed with their gutsy statements. No harm done, especially since they still offer all the same old brokade/sculpted carpet/flowery wall/fuzzy ceiling materials that so many RV'ers crave.
I see the Airstream as a fun and relaxing environment for vacations and little adventures, and would love to be surrounded by the CCD interior, especially that on the 28ft model. I went to look at one last weekend in Irvine, and it really felt good to me. From a storage/practical point it might be less than pefect, but the fun factor is more than worth it, in my opinion. There is finally a choice one could take if one's budget would permit. Just knowing this makes me feel better about RV decor in general.
