A polished exterior wrap? Now that's an idea!

It's an Avion and the ad lists it as "light damage" but for someone with an Avion needing parts like windows, awning, interior stuff, etc. it would be a great find. My guess is a pine tree caused the light damage.
Nice camper needs work Airstream

Light damage? Maybe from being used as a ramp in a Monster Truck competition.

That looks like April Fool's in September. My crushed 78 did not look quite that bad, and it was totalled.

You mean, they put no price at all on it? Yep, I guess so...

Be careful of this one: 2003 Airstream
I was told it was "like new", with no visible dents (just one on the roof where a limb had fallen). I drove over 800 miles (one way) to check it out, and in my opinion it's totaled (the pictures appear to be taken before the damage). There is not a clean panel of skin on it, either having tree scapes or massive dents to the point where the cabinets inside are seperated from the walls by as much as two inches.
The guy had the stupidiy to tell me that it didn't leak!! I had to show him the water-stained walls where it was leaking, and he still didn't get it!!!
Who would pay top retail price for a like-new car after the dealer took a sledge hammer to it, then declare "it doesn't leak"?!
I was so upset about how the trailer was massively mis-represented, I was speechless and just wanted to leave: needless to say I failed to take any pictures.

Outside of that I hope you enjoyed your trip to longmont.
You got my curiosity up. I'd like to see it, but I don't feel like pretending that I'm interested it buying it. Is it visable from the street?
Regards.

I didn't remember the address, so I went out on Google Earth. I think you can see it:
It's off 4th in Niwot (GPS cords: N 40 06 12.95 W 105 10 8.77).
I assume it's still there: the old guy (Ray) seems to have had a lot of trouble backing up (into things). Also looks like the frame has been massively tweaked just behind the rear axle.
If you find it, can you take some pictures and email them to me? I would be very greatful!!

Likewise I have had many such Mis-
Mis-representing the actual condition of Airstreams have made it diffucult for all the honest people. On one trip to find a decent Airstream we traveled 1200 miles and looked at 5 Airstreams and Avions that were all suposed to be in excellent condition only to come home empty handed. They had every thing from Big Dents discribed as a small place where something hit it, to rotted out floors to Axles that were completely shot. It also baffles me as to why someone will try to get over $10,000 for a unit that is worth maybe $6,000 and not even wash the moss and grime off of it and on one ocassion I even found a Frig. full of rotten food that stunk to high heaven.
I guess they think that if they get you to travel all that didtance that you won't want to leave without it.

Thanks a lot, I'll drive by there in the next few days.
By the way, I'm a Boise State fan too, unless they happen to play the Washington Huskies.
I think, when Colorado hired Dan Hawkins, Boise State kept the brains of the operation. Dan seems to be a nice guy, but not having much success down here.
Regards,
Ken

On our way down, west of Larimie, we lost the air conditioner in the truck. So we had to rent a PU from the dealer in Fort Collins while it was being fixed ($1,500 later). The rental did not have a GPS system, which bit!!!
Other than that, we did enjoy seeing new country.
It's always a gamble: buy tickets to fly (my wife is not going to let me buy without seeing it herself - so read two round-trip tickets), rent a car, and possibly add hotel cost for a night stay ($800 total). And if it's as advertised, you go home and drive down anyway (towing it home).
Or, have some faith in the seller (older generation in this case) and drive, expecting it to be as advertised.
Either way you are going to be out the bucks.
Yea: Dan's a Zen Zen kind of guy, and took all his staff with him to Colorado EXCEPT the guy that made him look good!! Go Broncos (both of them - college and Pro)!

This all makes me feel very lucky in my 4 Airstream purchases over the past 11 years.
All were found on the internet.

Please keep eyes open for a 72 Tradewind on the list that was stolen Labor Day from Houston. It could pop up anywhere. Thanks
