If only . . .

1. I were closer . . . and

2. I hadn't recently bought my '55 Safari . . .

I would be jumping all over that one. But I am VERY happy with what I've got.

Looks like a good trailer at a good price. I'm surprised someone here didn't snap it up at $2900.

But I will note that this trailer is a '54 not a '53, because the rear end is sloped, not veritcal and because the whale tail did not go into use until '54. And by '55 it most likely would have had a bathroom.

PRICED TO SELL NOW!!!!!!!! 64 AIRSTREAM

I think this is the same one they had listed last week for $2,500! Looks like someone needs to sell badly, might be a good deal. There are no pictures, but I did email the seller to see if they had any. I can post them if they respond...

Well.. quick response on the pictures, but maybe not such a good deal afterall. Looks like a dent in the rear segment, a long crease along the curbside rear corner, and it appears to have caught a falling limb or something as the roof is dented - visible from both sides. Anyway here's the pics for what they're worth...

I don't think the dents look that bad. Some might pop out with a dent puller, but you'd have to see it in person to be sure. A minor crease or two adds "character" (at least that's what I tell myself about my trailer).

But I will also note that this is not a 1964 Airstream. From the details I think it is a 1962. It has 7 panel end caps, a big drip rail over the door and flat topped wheel wells. This combination is more or less unique to 1962!

BEWARE this one - I've posted a few of his craigslist Airstreams before. He must be some kind of flipper? Or someone that just gets his kicks posting ads? He's almost always got a few airstreams listed, not always the same ones. When I've called he is very reticent about giving any information, and I never could get an address to look at the trailer(s) - I'm not sure how he's selling them, or if he really even has any?

Fish House-Ice Shack Safari?

I am pretty sure this is a converted 1965 Safari. It is now an Fish Shack. So you know it has holes in the floor and belly pan, and what is this about removable wheels????

They could have picked a better spot for the holes - You can only catch brown trout from that hole!

Those are some strange looking wheels. Good thing they lubed the bearings.

2 tires, one jack. How the heck do you need anything less than 14" of ice for this? And then a beefy 4WD to pull it on and off a lake. I wouldn't think they butchered their 2nd Airstream this way.

Royalton is about 15 miles from me. Near that? Platte Lake is a flowage and ice thicknesses are unreliable. Fishtrap or other Camp Ripley area lakes? The phone area code is SW Minneapolis suburbs.

This is a great amusing ludicrous find. Thanks!
