My wife and I are selling our home and moving to some acreage in south central Alabama. We intend to live in an Airstream, for a couple of years, while we build our new home. There after, we will use the Airstream for traveling. We are asking for your input, from all of you that would know, as to which Airstream trailer and what size would be the best to fulfill our requirements. Thanking you in advance...the Krasinski's.
I agree. I couldn't see living in the 19' Bambi for extended periods. It's a real charm for vacation, but I can't see it as a full time trailer.

The longer the better. Longer allows for more room and more amenities. I lived in my 23' Safari for about 8mos several years ago, and it was waaay too small.

In 1996, we moved to VA, with the intention to build a house....some day.
We have been living in a 29' to date. We have just bought a 32', but are not sure yet about the gain in useable space. A lot of space is wasted in an oversized shower stall for example.
In the end, I think it may be better than the 29', but the layout is really different, so size alone is not the only factor. For example, only one pullout bed instead of 1 1/2: for 2 people that gives more floor space than can be costumized. The build in microwave, we did not have in the 1974 saves space too.
I think that anything 29' to 34' is OK, but the layout is very important to consider too.
In the end: don't make yourself too comfortable, or you may never build that house.
I personally thought we could get by with a 30 or 31 (both 31'). My wife didn't. I'm sure glad I listened to her and got the 34' (actually 34'10"). We're both happier because of it. That additional 4' from the bath forward makes a big difference.
