If you could
If you could go back in time to when your Airstream was just starting down the assembly line and you could change one thing in the process, what would it be? It doesn't matter if you are the first of the tenth owner of your coach. It doesn't matter if the change didn't even exist then ("I'd put LED lights in my 1953 Airstream.") It doesn't even matter if it is physically possible ("I'd change all of the tanks to 100 gallons.)
Remember, only one change, although it can be a coach-wide change, such as the LED lights, or a system change.
Let the ideas flow.

I’d have had an emergency exit door added in the bedroom instead of the exit window. Did it later at the factory - love it - but would have been much cheaper if it was done at build time.

Demand that Airstream replaced the organic matter subfloor (plywood, OSB), with Coosa board. Many owners now needlessly spending thousands on subfloor replacement, would in hind sight agree with me.

I like the exit door idea. But on my larger trailer if I could have only one change it would have been to leave out the overhead windows that leak and can not be fixed.

The replacement of the drum brakes with anti-lock disk brakes. Our 2015 would be greatly improved with all of the 2019 standard features. AS is doing better. However, it's really time for the travel trailer braking to match up with current tow vehicle braking technology. Maybe next year. The new factory should speed up production enough they will need better brakes to stop the coaches at the end of the line. Pat

Well fitting it with anti-gravity pods to cut the weight in half would be nice. The Tardis (bigger on the inside than on the outside) option would be pretty cool. The 12KW inverter / 7,000 AH battery / 6KW solar / 12KW onboard generator (all in the same weight / volume) option would be a winner. Of course none of these would impact the price .... right?
On a practical basis, I'd agree on the lift kit. I've already got ducted air and pretty big tanks. Lithium is fine with me, but I don't think I would want the factory's approach to doing it. Getting a bit far out, a 2KW propane driven generator built into the trailer might be about as crazy as I would want to go.

I would nix the skylight. We have never used it once, and it has created problems in each of our three Airstreams.

I don't know whether this would count as one change, but... more than anything else, I'd like to see SERIOUS quality control inspection and remediation at every step of the way.
I've said this before but I'll say it again: last year I bought a 2017 Ford F-150 and a 2017 Airstream International 27FB, both new. The F-150 had zero problems on delivery, and after 35,000 miles still has none. The Airstream had a l-o-n-g list of problems before I took delivery, and more problems after I took delivery.
Mind you, I'm not comparing it to an Acura or a BMW. When you can't even equal Detroit quality, you have a serious QC problem.
