Needing a tow

If the route is muddy, rock-strewn, up-hill, where only a mule would dare to tread . . .

Call Eric, the '59Toaster'

You know what...I have firends in both of those towns. You don't know how true that statement is about the hills is my friend.

Cleveland is VERY close to the tallest Mt in Ga. Brasstown Bald Infact I wonder if the destination is Top of GA right down the road to Brasstown. Between Ellijay and Cleveland is several tall mountains and LOTS of curvy roads.

I can't commit to anything right now. Sorry.

My tow rig is about to get some repairs done that if they don't go well I may have to remove the heads and it will be down a few weeks. commited starting these next week as soon as my parts order comes in. I have at least three broken exhaust manifold bolts ( well one is broked for sure but I have tried to remove several other and they are not coming out without a fight) and of couse they are in both heads and one already is broken flush to the head. Won't know how many will break when we atempt to get the rest out. Waiting on the Goofy thread pitch $2 each bolts to come in at the dealer.

Just for new bolts, nuts, collector studs and seals I have $150 or so in parts. Then once they are off we can see if they are warped or not. This might get expensive

If the heads have to come off then it migh just get a different cam and I may just order a set of Vortec heads. And of course that's going to make the computer cranky. Just might end up with a 450hp Tow rig LOL.

Eric,
My son's '90 K1500 Sport 4X4 has a 350 that burns/leaks 3 qts. driving from school to home (230 miles or so). Fortunately for him, our income tax return was an all time high this year so we have set aside $1500 for him to have his engine block machined, bored and honed. He plans on switching to Vortec heads and going with an appropriate new manifold, headers, etc. My old Amsoil dual bypass oil filtration system will be put on after he breaks the engine in. Since they have a dyno at his school he plans on checking stats before and after the build. He can't wait to begin and I can't wait for him to remedy the oil stains in the middle of my driveway.

Liability is a major concern. My insurance carrier has already stated NO COVERAGE if pulling anything other than my own trailer.

If I am stopped by police (for what ever reason) and they run the license plates of my truck/trailer, they better come back as both being mine. Or they will claim I'm towing commercial. Yep.

Do we want to help out our fellow RV'ers?? Of course! I just don't see how you get around this issue.

It might not be an issue with others; it is with me. Just MHO

Liability

Good point!

On the other hand, if Rick hires a commercial hauler to move his trailer, the hauler would be responsible for any in-transit damage.

Send a message via Skype™ to uwe
I imagine that most RV dealers or repair centers would be able to tow it for you, if push comes to shove, literally...
