I need a kick in the rear!!!!

Last week my husband came home and was telling me one of his customers came in telling him about a Bambi located in the little town over for sale. The price was $1500. I was so excited and wanted to go look at it, but the customer was wanting it so I decided not to go ahead of him (common courtesy) so I kept after my husband did he go look at it? did he buy it? We need to find it!!!!!
So the customer came back in a few day's latter and tells my husband I missed it and the guy sold it for $800 just to get someone to haul it off.
Ended up the guy took his time going to look at it also he stated it was a early 70's model.
So with what I know Airstream didnt make Bambi in the 70's so it must have been something else but it was a small short unit as I was told.
Anyway I learned my lesson and next time I will be sure to check it out (quick)

For $800, unless it was damaged, gutted, it would have been a great resto project and the startup price was right!

Airstream made the 18' Caravel untill 71. After that the smallest (70's) unit was the 21' Globetrotter. Both of these trailers are in high demand because of their size and weight. Lessons learned: Don't wait!

It would have been worth $800 as scrap...IMHO

The early bird gets the aluminum. Sorry you missed out. I'll bet it was all dented, needed a new floor and all of the windows were missing.

That's what I keep telling myself. It's not like I have my other Airstream. I just keep on a look out for a little brother or sister for it.
