i just bought my first "jug 'O' Walbernize"

okay, so I'm pretty excited about my new "stream"

after reading EVERTHING I could about Airstreams on this and SOF (some other forum) I went down to the local airtream dealer and bought a half gallon of WalberniZe. I read the instructions and, well, it seems to be the same sorta instruction you'd find on regular car wax

"1. Apply to surface using a clean, dampened wax applicator or cloth well saturated with WALBERNIZE, or use an orbital buffer

2. Apply with a firm even pressure to a small section (3'X3') using a circular overlapping motion

3. When a dry haze appears, buff with a clean soft cloth"

this is right off the bottle. Is this correct? I have a electric buffer. Can I use that?

db

(BTW, I can't wait to wax it, hehehe)

I dont think you need to bother with the orbital buffer. the stuff wipes off really easily w/ a terry towel. not like hard automotive wax at all. It really doesn't take long at all to do it. (PITA to get up on the roof, though )

Try to do the application in the shade or on a cloudy day if you can. It comes off so easily that a buffer would be a case of overkill. Be sure to shake the bottle well since it will separate. If you keep your trailer exposed all year, doing it twice a year will keep things looking good. My suggestion is in the spring before your first trip and before you put it away for the summer.

I have thought about WalberniZe, but my clearcoat is about 1/2 gone, lower 1/2. What will the Walbernize do on the unclearcoated area, should I even use it?

well....?

ok

I think I'll just use the towel....

but the instructions don't say that a buffer could be used for the wiping off

It says it can be used in the application. Does this stuff need to be rubbed in real good?

I'm thinking probably not, but may try a small section, applying it with the buffer pad, then wiping off by hand. As a test.

mucho thanks

I like the orbiral method of application and buffing. Even thought it's the easiest to apply and buff out of all the polishes i have used, I find that I blow out my arms and back doing the whole AS by hand. I orbital, how bout you?

I find it is so easy to apply and wipe off that a buffer would just get in the way. This stuff is not like creamy liquid car waxes, so its much like water in its consistancy.

If you have physical issues then do it with the buffer. I don't believe you will enhance your results by using one though.

Can Walbernize be used on other clear coat finishes (i.e. Cars & Trucks). If it so easy to apply, I wouldn't mind using on our other vehicles.

Thanks in advance.

I tried the Walbernize product on one of my cars. Not great. Good quality car wax seems to work much better.
On the trailer, it seems to do the job well.
