Buyer beware, I am seeing ads for wanting to buy flooded Airstream trailers.
Since some may not have insurance, it will never show up on a vin report.

Hi

.... and cars and trucks and .....

You'll be needing to check for water damage on any sort of used vehicle for the next couple years.

. . . may also want to include "new" vehicles in this admonition, as post-Sandy there were apparently some new vehicles sold which had been involved in minor flooding by salt water, which was not immediately apparent.

Hi

At least on a new vehicle from a dealer, there is some direct recourse under the manufacturer's warranty. Buying a "really great deal" from Uncle Bob's Super Used Cars may not give you as much protection.

With the Sandy cars, it was a long drawn out sort of thing. A number of them got hauled away and at least partially reworked to eliminate the more obvious damage. They then came back on the market a year or more later.

Yes, it's crazy.

It would be better to assign the cars/trailers (even SOBS) to government agencies... it would supplemented the need and the gov would receive perfect vehicles... ok, the koolaid is wearing off....
