How to check frame?

Hi
I have poured over and over these forums for a month now. I have a 73 sovereign and have gotten down to the floor which is rotted in places. I also do not know the condition of the frame. Is it better to take the floor up to check this or drop the under belly. Husband wants to do the latter. I think the floor needs to come up. I would appreciate any insight.
Thanks
Teena

It is easier to check the frame from underneath. If you have to replace floor, and it's along the edge, which it nearly always is, you need to drop most of the stuff anyways to be able to get under the channel to run bolts up into the wall cavity.
