How old when you got your AS?

So my wife and I are always fascinated by the AS community and wondered when you guys got your AS.

I was 53. It was three years before my retirement, and almost five years ago now.

My original plan was to buy a live-aboard boat and cruise America's inland waterways when I retired. Then I had an accident that left me with an ankle that doesn't bend, and suddenly the thought of living aboard something that never stops rocking even when you park it didn't make sense anymore.

RVing was supposed to be the next best thing, but far from being second best, it turned out to be the wisest decision I've made since I can rememberó though as I get older, "since I can remember" doesn't mean as much as it once did!

I bought my Airstream before retirement even though I knew it would be under-utilized for the first few years. Having chosen RVing as my retirement hobby, I wanted to get in some "retirement practice" up front so that by the time I did retire, I'd already be good at it.

Hi, 60, two years before retirement. That's a lot of money to spend if you work and only get two weeks vacation per year.

We moved up from a fold out camper (Reliart)(Trailer spelled backwards) to a 1963 Overlander, when I was 48. That is 30 years ago
