Most people follow the guideline of the Vintage Airstream Club, 25 years.

Your state may vary if you are talking about licence plates. The VAC says 25 but I never understood what that really means unless you wanted to join that club which from what I remember is a really good organization with lots of good restoration information. Might be worth checking them out.

Old enough to know better and still to young to care = VINTAGE

I haven't paid a lot of attention to fine dividing lines while touring well maintained Airstreams at rallies.

R.J. Dial's site has shown no inclination to include coaches younger than 1980 -- Vintage Airstream Photo Archives.

What chaps my ass is campgrounds that only allow up to 10 year old units. I know there are threads about it. They have that right and there is nothing you can do or say about it except move along. A little off topic I know but related because sometimes you have to play it both ways with an airstream.

I believe they waive the 10 year rule for Airstreams.

It would be fun to pull up to one of these places in an 11 year old Rolls Royce pulling an 11 year old Airstream just to see what they say.

None had the nerve to throw us out with our 63 Safari, guess it's a snob appeal thing, if you don't pass the appearance standards out 'ya go.

That depends. Garden of the Gods in CO Springs didn't, now they changed their policy. A solution has previously been proposed to this quandry, LIE. The person behind the desk probably does not know the difference between a new or vintage Airstream.
