Hingeless cargo door sill
Trying to post here for the first time and have no idea how but will try to do it. I've made a hinge-less cargo door ( frame kit from Vintage Trailer Supply) for a new exterior opening. I'm done with the door but trying to find a 23" piece of "sill" that the top of the cargo door frame slides up into to hold the door in place. The sill is an enlongated or opened S shape piece that is riveted to the trailer. I would really rather try to find this than use a piano hinge to hold the cargo door on. Can't seem to find the sill piece anywhere.
My '67 had the type of hatches you're talking about but I don't remember exactly the type of frame it had. Any pictures, or is the part missing?
I think you are looking for a "Z" channel. See if you can match something up at Brunner Ent. http://www.brunnerent.com/Tools/Port...=0&iPageView=0
If not you may be able to rivet together some "L" or "T" channels to the proper size. I did this for roof supports on the Tradewind when I replaced the A/C.
