Hi there, I am new

We just bought our first Airstream...an 83 Excella 31' in cream puff condition. You know, you always wanted to buy a rig from the widow who's husband always took wonderful care of the rig...We just did. The only problem is we dont pick it up till tomorrow. Ugh...I am dying here.

I have a few questions....how is the insulation. If the ac is cranking will the place stay cool in the Texas heat?

Are there any specific issues I need to look for?

Where do you buy plastic flamingos? Dh hates them and I have to buy him one. lol

Thanks for these forums.

Missy, dh and dd8...full timing in an airstream. (scary thought)

No. If the AC is in good working order, and it is 100 deg. outside, you might be able to maintain 80 to 85 deg. Be sure and have it on early in the day so it does not have to labor so hard to bring the temperature down initially.

As with any older airstream, rot in the floor. Look around plumbing fixtures, places where plumbing passes through the floor, and particullarly around the rear of the coach, where the floor and shell meet.

And you may have much, or even all of the original problematic polypropylene (grey tubing, grey connections, bright aluminum band clamps) water supply lines.

Good luck, and welcome. That should be a very nice, very comfortable coach.

Mark

POLYBUTYLENE, not polypropelene. Sorry.

Welcome to the wonderful world of Airstreaming.

For the pink flamingos - look at www.flamingomania.com if it's a 'minger you can find it there.
