The enhancements really brought out the fact that it is indeed a '60 Safari !But I believe a little blur effects would close the deal !

ok Stef, you've dangled the carrot long enough

What is it? Don't let it go unsolved like THIS thread, elsewise we must deduct karma points.

Don't do that! I need all the Karma I can get!

I haven't found a house to knock on the door of yet. It seems to be out in a field, fenced off from neighboring properties, and we can't really determine how to proceed. I'm going to get the addresses around it and send letters to the neighbors hoping I'll hit the owner, or at least someone might point me to the owner. Never know out here in the country, sometimes folks are friendly, sometimes they'll shoot you for snoopin'. Gotta tread lightly...

Easy solution?

Have hubby climb the fence and bond with the cow. Most cows are friendly but a sugar cube or 2 might help. After the bonding process, hubby can mosey over to the AS and read the tag (assuming he hasn't lost interest after making a new friend). It might be wise if he moos and nibbles some grass along the way so as to blend in.
Most farmers are friendly folks. Some will even shoot trespassers with rock salt rather than buckshot

I can definitely identify the item in the picture. It's a HEREFORD!!

Now, I just need to get Brett to move this thread to the Pet Forum

Farms ID

Ok...go to the local farm store that has a farm plat map...or to the local Government Agriculture Farm office, or to the county courthouse.
Know your landmarks so that you know exactly which parcel of land you are checking out.
The farm maps at the government farm office will have the name of the owner, and the operator of the farm on it. They also have the name and address of those people so that the Dept of Agriculture can monitor what they are doing with the land in the farm program.

Wow, good idea! Our county has an online mapping system with both sattelite photos and plat maps. Kind of like mapquest, but cooler. So I turned it on to the photos, found a nearby school, and just panned my way along the roads until I was looking at an overhead view of the farmland in question. Then I just clicked on what looks like the right barn (the cows weren't visible) and asked for a report and got everything from the guys name and address to how much he pays in taxes every year! Now at least I know which house it is and which road to take to get to it. Hopefully I'll soon report back with a positive ID.

Well, the house is surrounded by no trespassing signs, and so I wrote to the owner, saying I was a fan of old trailers and had one like his and just being friendly, no response. That was a couple months ago.

Then I was looking at the 'winter pics' thread and saw Ken's pic of his 59 18' Traveller and immediately thought- that's it! I'm just sure of it. After looking at the back side repeatedly (from even further away than the cow-side) I think it only has one window on the streetside. But the curbside placement is the same, the door within a door, and the front window is a little more narrow top to bottom than the one on my caravel. So anyway, that's my final conclusion. 58-59 18' Traveller. Sorry to leave you all hanging so long.

If you want to find Airstreams in your area, go to this site....

http://www.terraserver.com/providers...x_examples.asp

For $7 you can use a satellite to scan in on areas to look for Airstreams. You can search for free, but can't get too close of a zoom unless you pay. Pretty reasonable for what it is.

Always thinking!
