Hey thanks I wonder is there a way to trace the whereabouts of the past owners of a A/S maybe by that number???? #15607

Don't remember if I've already posted or not, since the search function doesn't work for me, but we're 8371, trying to change it to something else.

It took me a few tries but i found our AIR number. Wow 12102 is a lot of people on this, and many more are joining everyday. Good job people, keep it up.

Frederic your "Air" number is 8239...sounds like we might need to petition the WBCCI for a number change.

Yes, but...

I'm not anything close to an expert on WBCCI but the numbers were sequential for quite a long time. Because numbers were getting so high, WBCCI began to reassign numbers as previous members became inactive. Therefore you'd almost need a WBCCI catalog from the years in which your Airstream was registered. Another Forums member probably has some older catalogs and could PM you if they find something (Please avoid placing personal information of 3rd parties into a thread. Thank you!).

Finding my number.

Appears to be 174

If I know your number can I trace back ? If I pull into a campground and I see a Air # can I come to the site and look up the owner.

Jim that is your number. AndyR is working on a searchable method. Who needs the Air number...if I see ANY Airstream in a campground I am going over, forum member or not

You would be welcome at my trailer, but I was thinking if no one is home or a trailer is in a parking lot i could send a invite for a vist when they returned. I might have to have a set or red numbers and a set of blue numbers on the top of the trailer.

OK, I have added a link (it's basic for now) to the "Quick Links" section on the left of most pages. Look for the the AIR # Directory and it will pull up the member list in order of join date. Some accounts have been merged and that is why the sorting does not work perfectly for AIR #s yet but I will get that fixed when I develop a proper solution for this...

If possible as you all workout all the details of the AIR #s, can one of you send me the specifications of how/where the numbers are being placed and then I will post about this in the announcements section. What we need is a clear guide on how we want everyone to roll this out.

Also, I plan to make better tools to type in a number and pull up who it is. I will also make a special web based interface so that you can pull this info up from the browser on your cell phone. That way you can take the directory with you without having to print it out. I will also make a printable version that is updated every week and available as a pdf.

I will also make it so you can look up WBCCI numbers from a cell phone too!

I have been wanting to make a lot of our info available in a stripped down web interface for boon dockers and this is another feature that is perfect for a WAP browser.

I have some other ideas that are going to blow you all away. Just think Google Earth API with our info (Courtesy parking, camping sites and reviews, parts/supply stores, and all of our photos laid on top). I can't wait to work on cool new tools for us. The last 3 months I spent traveling to 27 cities in 12 countries on 5 continents (I hope Wally would be proud, even though I was doing it with a backpack and not a silver bullet). I was able to work while moving but able to settle down and handle any big projects. So now I am super excited to slow down and start working on some of this fun stuff!!!

Hi All, Thanks for the Karma points and the kind words.

For those of you that want to know. I had them made at a sign shop chain called Signs Now. The numbers are 5 inches tall and about 7/8" wide. I wanted them to fit under my running lights and above my nameplate. The color I chose was saphire blue. It seemed like the closest to the royal blue of my refinished Airstream name plate. They are said to be UV resistant. They told me that they would last 5 years out in the sun. We'll see. I bought two sets. They come on a sheet pre-spaced. You peel one side off, carefully stick them on and then peel off the backing. Easy !

Thanks Andy for making this info readily available to everyone. I like the ideas you have mentioned about making the info available in other ways.

Now ya'll know why I polished the back top of my trailer first

. I had to get the two sets of ghost numbers off there. I am happy to be a member of this community. I just have to show it off I guess !

I can get them made for you if you wish but there are lots of sign shops out there that can do the job. The cost of my numbers was $1.86 each or $7.44 for a set of 4.

Goin camping at the coast this weekend with a partially polished trailer and my new blue numbers !
