I was about to post on the three letter challenge thread and it was immediately locked without explanation. Are these threads no longer allowed and against the forums rules? Are there any other new changes we may not generally be aware of?

Hello Carol -- Due to some persistent (though minor) complaints it is felt that three or so of these game threads occupying the portal page is plenty. This is not discouraged on the basis of it being off topic. I don't know that I can answer your last question.

We have had many complaints, but there also many who enjoy these threads. We have chosen to strike some balance and it isn't always easy. Game threads are off topic, and ... really long threads are also server intensive. We are volunteers doing the best we know how to do.

No I think it would be ownership. I'm a guest here, you make the rules , then you gotta enforce them.
I participate here to learn and share info. If others want to do the one word thing, good for them. I just do not have someone pointing a revolver at my head saying I need to check out every thread.I can make my own decisions as to what I wish to participate in. Thanks DG
