First time owner, doghouse issues
History, Buying our Airstream was a big decision for my wife and me. First off, my wife is city girl who has seen a lot of the world from comfortable accommodations. The thought of camping was only eased by her love of fishing. Her hobby is stained glass, which I might add she is very good at, but her equipment is off limits to this creative husband. So heed the following advice.
1. Don’t ever tell your spouse you think there is a Jacuzzi in all Airstreams,” pre buy statement”.
2. Don’t use your spouse’s $40 glass cutting pliers to cut rivet stems.
3. Don’t use your spouse’s $300 diamond blade band saw to cut screws, then tell her “Andy said it would balance the running gear,”and sharpen the blade.
4. Don’t ask your spouse to help you on the A/S until you have figured out how to explain #1
5. Don’t tell your spouse that $400 dollars worth of polishing stuff is so she can put on her makeup outside the Airstream.
6. Don’t tell you spouse that buying a A/S is a hedge against inflation. Then try to explain your latest shipment from “Inland RV”
7. Don’t tell your spouse that towing a A/S makes you look very “cool” when your truck looks like it just came back from crash testing.
8. Don’t use your spouse’s sweatshirts with your cyclo orbital polishing equipment “see #5”
9. Don’t tell your wife that the flashlight you found in your newly bought unit was worth the $1000 trip to get it.
10. Last but not least don’t ever show your wife the washer and dryer picture for the Airstream and expect her mood to improve.
