Fell in Love with an '06 Bambi
My wife and I are thinking of buying a 2006 Bambi 19 . It would be our first AS but we have had a few trailers . Any idea of any problems with this model ? Trying to decide this weekend

We bought our 2005 Bambi 19' International in '06. We love it perfect for the two of us and one large dog. We use it almost every weekend early Spring through late Fall.

We love our 05. Bought it new. Great size for two people. It had some QC issues, but now it's customized .

Go for it! I would have bought a cute little Bambi (but went with something larger because was/am thinking of LTL long-term living).
I'm relatively new, but as far as this Airstream thing goes, the pros far out-weigh the cons.

We love our 06 19' Bambi Safari SE LS ... It was a great choice for us and we've had very little trouble with it. Go for it!

Just make sure you both fit and are comfortable on the corner bed that is only 48" wide. You can break down the dinette to make a second bed but it gets old after a while.

If it's prices right, buy it. You really have to work hard to loose money on a Bambi!

We love our 06 Bambi! Go for it! They are great units and if you decide to move up they are easy to sell. Were keeping ours a long time!

We purchased our 2006 Bambi last September and have not regretted it once. With 4 trips under our belt it's the perfect fit for my wife and I and our cocker spaniels.

Your going to love it! Here's a pic of me and the pups in the Bambi. They are laid out very well. The front is almost a full size bed when it's made out.

After we solved some minor fit and finish issues, we are very happy with ours. We have made some modifications--added a new, more comfortable mattress, moved the TV to accommodate a microwave, added shelving to the bins and closets for improved storage. We expanded counter space with a custom cut countertop on the sink-side dinette bolster. This may sound like a lot, but it really isn't. The best improvement was the mattress. It feels like we are now sleeping on a king sized bed (well, not really) because we are not rolling into each other. Some folks have used a mattress topper to good effect.
We have taken trips up to 2+weeks and many weekends and had a great time. We will be out for 6+ weeks this summer and I will be happy to let you know if we feel we need a larger unit for longer trips. But so far, we are totally in love with the unit. Once I realized that you need to think like a backpacker in this unit, things have been even better. Almost everything we use has a dual purpose and we keep weight and items to a bare minimum.
All that being said, we used the unit for a year before we did anything to it and traveled well. I know you will have a great time.
Much luck and good travels.
Caryl
