This country. I have never been to a region I have not liked. Certainly for diffrent reasons but each area has it's special features. The only exception is the citys. Don't like those. Camping lets me enjoy it all!! My Airstream lets me do it with a little class -

I bet that is a great place for stars after dark...
It is out in the middle of nowhere!
Had to sneek in under the gate last time and walk a wayz...
It was closed and super dark. (overcast)
Did not know for sure if I was there until developed photos.

We enjoy the trip to and from a lot with our vintage trailer and tow vehicle. We have a lot of fun meeting people at the campgrounds who come to talk about one or the other and usually both. We almost always travel with friends and we greatly enjoy the special times sitting around the campfire at night with them. But mostly we just enjoying being out together without the day to day hassles of our work lives. So we mostly read, tour the local area we are camped in, read the local papers to get a feel for the place, and always enjoy looking for Airstreams that need a new home.

I always bring my mandolin....sometimes a banjo

And sometimes ............when I get home from camping........I can't go inside for a few hours. I get the grill going and pick a few songs just to decompress, before I go back to living in the so called real world.

I love the mandolin. My wife and I got to hear the Montana Mandolin Society concert in Bozeman, MT a few years ago with her mother. Walked away with two CDs!

Look forward to meting ya on the road somewhere and listening to you pick and grin a little.

1- switch "off" the cell phone.
2- enjoy the sound of no phones ringing.

I like the driving part quite a bit because I have the comforts of the AS whenever and whereever I stop for however long that might be. I like seeing the terrain, flora and weather change. I think it is the coolest thing to experience change so quickly on a days drive. Once planted I like exploring and seeing the locals.

My favorite camping time is spent hiking, taking pictures and just enjoying being around a great campsite with a view.
