Evergreen Co to Grand Tetons

We will be staying in Evergreen Co over Labor Day weekend and heading for Jackson Hole / Grand Tetons on Monday. Pulling a 2003 Safari 25' with a 2012 Escalade Truck. Any suggestions of best route to take and places to camp near Jackson Hole and Grand Teton NP would be appreciated. First trip to that area. Thanks in advance 😄

Did that same trip a couple of years ago. Good time of year. I like Gros Venture campground in the Teton Park just out of Jackson. We are cheap so we get a site without hookups. Not sure without looking back where we stayed on the way. I really liked the museum at Evergreen. And of course the drive up the Columbia. I think we stayed at Pasco for a day or so. I like the drive from Lewiston up to Missoula across the Lola pass. I stop in one of the Forest Service campgrounds and fish a day or so. What I do know is that it is a pretty trip however you go.

What Bill said. Route 12 over Lolo Pass. Take your time and enjoy the Lochsa and Selway Rivers. There are several beautiful campgrounds along the way.

I don't think you can beat Gros Venture campground for staying near Jackson. We'll be there shortly after Labor Day as Sam is in the One Fly

I thought you were referring to Evergreen Colorado - in which case, Lolo pass, Columbia River are nowhere near your route to the Grand Tetons. But maybe there's another Evergreen Co. Sink Hole State Park outside of Lander WY is a small but very cool State Park campground. No hookups. Saratoga WY is a fun little town with some RV sites nearby if you want to try a different direction. There is other good camping near Lander and also near Pinedale, WY. Gross Venture for Grand Teton.

We have stayed twice at Coulter Bay in the Grand Tetons. Absolutely one our favorite places. Full hookups and spacious spots. Bring extra material for leveling your trailer, the spaces are a little slanted. (you'll find out why if it rains)
A friend recommended that we visit the Wildlife art museum in Jackson and we both enjoyed it very much.

There is another place between Tetons and Yellowstone called Flagg Ranch. We stayed there years ago and liked it ok. I think we stopped there for some supplies last time on our way into Yellowstone.

Okay. I refreshed my memory by looking at the map. I fly fish. So we went Pasco (for labor day), Walla Walla, Lewiston, Missoula, West Yellowstone and then to Jackson, Wyoming. So it is the long way around. But a very nice trip. Knew we left Evergreen and ended up in Jackson Hole. But forgot some of the details. We have done it a couple of times and I confuse one trip with another. Been through Boise and around once also. Enjoyable trip however you go.
