Dyson AM04 & AM05 Hot + Cool heaters recall

Due to the popularity of these heaters on this forum (I am also a fan) I thought people would like to know that Dyson has issued a total recall on these heaters.

They will ship (both ways) and repair the fan free of charge and give you a new 2 year warrantee.

Details and to sign up are here: url=http://www.dyson.com/Fans-and-heaters/fan-heaters.aspx

Thanks for sharing this information on Air Forums. We like our Dyson heater/fan. We have registered with Dyson for our return.

Thanks, J.

I'll miss it while it's gone.

Yeah, I am debating when to send mine in. On one hand I have been using it and could use it over the next month, but I am concerned about using it. I will definitely miss it while it's being repaired.

Thanks for the info on the recall. Both of ours are affected and will send them in for service.

I sent mine in today. I hope it doesn't take too long to get back, but I'm not optimistic.

It would be great if we could hear from the folks who have sent their fans in for repair how long it took them to get theirs back. Would help some of us in planning when to send ours in.

Thanks,

-J

With 1,000,000 of them to do, I'd bet it will be awhile. I haven't got my "received" email yet, but tracking showed it there on 4/2. Could be worse, you gotta think we were some of the first in line. The snail mail letter came last Friday, 4/11...That's how most people find out.

Got an email today saying it is repaired, cleaned and will soon be on its way to me with a 2 year warranty. Since there wasn't a tracking number, I called their 866 number and was told there would be another email when shipped and that will have the tracking number.

While I'll probably not get it in time for our next semi-cold camping trip, I do have to say they are handling this pretty well!

Thanks for the update that is great to hear. It's still pretty cold up here in the frigid north that is Maine so I have not sent mine in yet. But will probably do so in a couple of weeks.

Received ours yesterday so just over a month start to finish. Not bad. Timing inconvenient but they really did everything right. Impressive problem resolution. No cost to send it back, complete repair/restoration, and 2 year warranty following the repair. Hope other companies take note of this approach!

One of the advantages is not having to use propane to heat when at a campground with hookups. And some of us prefer a fan over using the AC most of the time.

That's good news!

Hope I see mine soon. I went to Goodwill to get a cheap short term replacement since it's still chilly here. I miss the Dyson.
