Anyone have any campsite suggestions for a shoestring return trip - Orlando to Portland Maine in June via I95. e mail me at

I would be interested in chatting to anyone who has made the trip and can recommend some good overnight stops evenly spaced. thanks

Just did that drive in the opposite direction last week. But I'd recommend considering I-95 to I-26, I-77, I-81, and then cutting back to I-95 north of NJ. This doesn't add as much mileage as it appears on the map (only 80 miles in my case on a 1500 mile trip), and the roads are MUCH more pleasant and quiet for towing than the I-95 corridor. I wouldn't enjoy towing on the New Jersey Turnpike ...

I "Wal-marted" it all the way but a lot of people don't like that. All I can say is the Wal-Mart in Rock Hill SC (south of Charlotte) is quiet and pleasant, while the Wal-Mart in Carlisle PA (south of Harrisburg) was a teenage hangout and noisy well past 1 a.m. on a Saturday night.

Best of luck,

- RL
