Draining the tanks, funny!
My wife is staying in our Airstream at our daughter's place this week. This was her third time to stay in the Airstream and the second time alone since we bought our Airstream in June. This happened Wednesday morning.
Hi Dad,
I'm on the phone with Linda.
She's draining the trailer tanks, or was attempting to drain them this morning.
She has her plastic gloves on but nothing is happening.

She calls me at work and says she can't get the poopy tank to drain! You drain this one first.
She says the black water won't come out.
She turns on the valve but nothing comes out, the drain hose isn't filling.
She says the pump station is on but still not draining.
I tell her to hook up the black tank rinse hose and see if that will clear the clog. This hose sprays water in the black tank to rinse it out. I thought it might wash the clog out.
She says water is going in, but nothing is coming out and the tank is filling up. She checks by looking down the potty opening.
I tell her she may need to go to Wally World and get something to undo the clog.
Next I tell her to disconnect the drain hose.
I hear this: " Yuck, Oh man, oh, phew, oh, it got on me, oh, this smells like an elephant's butt, Oh man, I have to change my gloves again, Oh, I'll never do this again, Oh, this is your job!, Yuck, Yuck, etc…………………."
She washes and changes her gloves again. Poopy water is on the ground. Oh YUCK!
I tell her to reconnect the drain line and try again.
Again, it doesn't drain into the drain hose.
She disconnects the drain hose again and I hear about the elephant's butt again and more poopy water on the ground.
Time to change gloves again and wash again!
It appears to drain when the drain hose is not connected, but it won't drain with the hose connected?
I ask Linda if the drain hose is pointing down.
She say's HUH! No the drain hose is pointing up!
I tell her, as much as you try, it won't flow up hill, ha, ha, ha, ha………………………………………….
I can hardly catch my breath.
The drain hose attaches to the drain pipe by twisting it onto two extrusions. She had it connected so that the drain hose was higher than the tanks.
I tell her to reconnect the drain hose with the drain hose down, and viola, it works! Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha………………………
She changes gloves and washes again.
Now she turns on the rinse water in the black tank again to rinse it out.
Next she drains the gray water. No problem!
Empty the drain hose and put it away.
Put the caps on the drain pipe and pump station. Pour bleach on the grass under the drain pipe.
Change gloves and wash up again, wash again many times, wash one more time!
Oh, this is so traumatic!
And so begins another wonderful day in the country!
Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha…………………………………………………….

or would that be going overboard.... Actually she could be an engineer. I once was a golf professional at a community in Florida where they did away with a lot of the hills prior to building.... our take on it was that they couldn't figure out how to make water flow uphill.
